Join us tomorrow as TANA and Custodians of Cinema Society of Sacramento kick off a new summer film series featuring thoughtfully curated films from around the world. Our first screening is La Soldadera (1966), directed by José Bolaños.
Set during the Mexican Revolution, La Soldadera follows Lázara, a young newlywed whose life is transformed by war. After her husband is conscripted and later killed, she joins a revolutionary band, learning resilience and survival while holding onto the hope of a more peaceful future. Starring Silvia Pinal, this powerful film offers a moving perspective on the often-overlooked experiences of women during the Revolution.
